Since many readers have asked about the nuts and bolts of my business via email I thought I would share the press kit I have just put together. This is what I am sending out to local and regional bridal magazines and newspapers to hopefully get my work featured in those publications. When designing the kit, I started with the idea of creating what would look a bit like a wedding invitation and added design elements that tie into the marketing look I have created for my business - pink, modern lettering and a chrysanthemum flower. I included a business card, hand-written note to the appropriate editor, sheets with photos of items and a pricing sheet with descriptions of the materials I use. The other thing I added is a tiny organza flower attached to a magnet and wrapped it in a velum envelope like a package. Editors get piles of stuff in the mail and a little give-away is a way to hopefully have my kit stand out from the crowd. Wish me luck!

Brilliant! I just noticed today that you have 10 subscribers on Bloglines... which is a lot, since most people use Google Reader or some other type of RSS feed service. You're hot! :)
